What is a spiritual wedding?

A spiritual wedding is a free, consciously created ceremony in which you celebrate your connection – not through outer obligations, but through inner sensing, symbolism and rituals.

In contrast to a classic wedding, a spiritual free ceremony is:

  • free from fixed beliefs – open to different spiritual paths (or simply your personal definition of spirituality)
  • deeply personal – your story, your values, your inner truth
  • ritual-based – with symbols, elements and small actions that are meaningful to you

Good to know:
A spiritual free ceremony is not legally binding – just like other free ceremonies. You have your civil wedding separately; your spiritual ceremony is the emotional and energetic highlight of your wedding day.

After a non-binding inquiry, the process begins with an open and heartfelt conversation. Online or in person we talk about:

  • your values & life paths
  • what “spiritual” means to you (and also what it definitely should not be)
  • which kinds of rituals, symbols, music and texts speak to you

This is where the foundation of your spiritual ceremony is created – appreciative, curious and without putting you in boxes.

2. Designing your spiritual ceremony

Based on what we share, I create an individual structure for your spiritual wedding – clearly laid out and at the same time open for intuitive moments.

Possible elements of your spiritual free ceremony include, for example:

  • A ritual with the four elements (fire, water, earth, air) as companions on your shared path
  • Handfasting or a ribbon ritual as a sign of your conscious connection

Four simple symbols for earth, water, fire and air remind you of what carries you in everyday life:

You can invite each element into your relationship with a short sentence – or involve guests who each hold one element for you.

Handfasting & ribbons – connected, yet free

Your hands are gently bound with ribbons or cloths.
The ribbons can be untied again after the ceremony and accompany you as a reminder of your Yes. In this way, the bond remains freely chosen and conscious, not tied down forever.

Blessing circle & words from the heart

Friends and family can stand or sit in a blessing circle around you and speak short wishes, affirmations or sentences. This can also happen on an energetic level.
This turns your spiritual wedding into a shared ritual – a ceremony in which you are held and supported.

This ritual is for couples who do not just want to celebrate their spiritual wedding but also experience it as a conscious new beginning. It combines gentle energetic cleansing, a deep heart connection and – if you wish – a short channeling with a message for your relationship.

No. Like all free ceremonies, the spiritual ceremony is symbolic, emotional and energetically effective – the legal marriage takes place at the registry office.

Can different beliefs be brought together?
Yes. A spiritual wedding is wonderful for couples with different religious backgrounds or worldviews. We create a ceremony in which all parts of you have space – without anyone having to bend or hide who they are.
