Cliffside Elopement Wedding on Gran Canaria

An elopement doesn’t need a big stage—just the right moment. This short video shows how we prepare an intimate “Oceanfront Cliff Wedding” moment on a wind-shaped cliff above the Atlantic: togetherness, sunset mood and nature. Below you’ll find the learnings so your vows stay light, safe and real.

Process & Learnings

  • Paths & sightlines: We test the route so you arrive relaxed and the camera stays unobtrusive.
  • Light windows: Golden hour or soft afterglow—better a 20-minute buffer than being late.
  • Wind & safety: Cliffs are exposed—we choose sheltered micro-locations, clear stand positions and a safe distance to the edge.
  • Micro-decor over stage: 2–3 natural elements (cloth/flowers/stones) are enough; the Atlantic is your backdrop.
  • Discreet communication: Hand signals instead of phones—the moment is yours.

Gran Canaria – the perfect location

Gran Canaria offers dunes, cliffs and sheltered coves. With trade-wind conditions we recommend the leeward side or shifted time slots (earlier/later)—privacy wins.

Tips for couples

  • Define a time window plus plan B (spot/timing)
  • Shoes for rock/sand and lightweight clothes with freedom to move
  • Take 5 minutes to arrive before the ceremony
  • After the vows: 10 minutes of couple portraits in a natural flow

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

How safe is a cliff location?
We only choose spots with sufficient space, clear stand positions and we check wind windows. Safety before the shot.

What about wind?
Time buffer plus an alternative leeward spot. In strong winds we reschedule—intimacy and safety come first.

Photo & video at the same time?
Yes—small, coordinated team, long focal lengths and clear hand signals instead of direction.
